Discovered! 505 Odd Enterprises An inspirational collection of 713 unusual but practical ideas, suggestions and plans for building a spare or full-time business. Compiled from the actual experiences of many "little fellows." 2nd Edition by George W. Haylings 1947 |
||
Starting in his late teens, George Haylings began a life-long collection of the unusual ways people made money. In 1932, like many others, he was broke. So he took a clipping from his collection and turned it into a short report which he felt he could sell (see the first entry in Chapter 8). And George was proved right when his classified ad in Mechanix Illustrated generated numerous orders. But it wasn't until 1935 that he repeated this idea of selling money-making reports by mail. And for the next fifty years, if you ever read the business-opportunity classified ads in magazines, you saw a Hayling's ad. |
